Linda's Belgian Waffles Recipe - Cooking Index
3/4 cup | 177ml | 2% milk |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Whole-wheat flour |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Buckwheat flour |
1 | Egg | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Vegetable oil |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Honey |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Baking powder |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Wheat germ - (optional) |
1 | Mixed fruit - (optional) | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Whipped cream - (optional) |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Confectioner's sugar - (optional) |
Mix together milk, whole wheat flour, buckwheat flour, egg, oil, honey, vanilla and salt with a whisk. Gently fold in baking powder.
With a ladle, spoon batter onto preheated griddle or waffle maker and cook according to manufacturer's instructions.
Top with wheat germ, mixed fruit, whipped cream, jam or powdered sugar to serve.
This recipe yields 3 large waffles or 8 pancakes.
