8 cups | 500g / 17oz | Old-fashioned oats |
1 1/2 cups | 240g / 8.5oz | Brown sugar |
1 1/2 cups | 355ml | Wheat germ |
8 oz | 227g | Almonds |
8 oz | 227g | Cashews |
8 oz | 227g | Unsweetened large ribbon coconut |
3 oz | 85g | Sunflower seeds |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Water |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Oil |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Honey |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Peanut butter |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla extract |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Raisins |
Mix first seven ingredients in a large bowl.
Heat water, oil, honey, and peanut butter until it begins to bubble. Remove from heat and add vanilla and pour over dry ingredients. Mix well and spread onto two large baking sheets.
Bake in 200 degree oven for about two hours or until coconut is golden. Stir occasionally while baking. Add raisins when cool. Store in an airtight container.
This recipe yields about 12 cups.
