Crunchy Granola Sweetened With Dried Blueberries


Recipe Ingredients

1/4 cup 59mlMelted butter or canola oil
3 tablespoons 45mlHoney
2 tablespoons 30mlBrown sugar - (packed)
3 cups 187g / 6.6ozOld-fashioned oats
1/2 cup 20g / 0.7ozWheat bran cereal
1/4 cup 27g / 1ozRaw sunflower seeds
1 teaspoon 5mlGround cinnamon
1/3 cup 78mlWheat germ
1/3 cup 30g / 1.1ozSliced almonds
1 teaspoon 5mlAlmond extract
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlVanilla extract
3/4 cup 177mlDried blueberries - (4 oz)

Recipe Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking pan, stir together butter (or oil), honey and brown sugar. Mix in oats, bran cereal, sunflower seeds and cinnamon.

Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.

Stir in wheat germ, almonds, almond and vanilla extracts. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven and immediately stir in dried blueberries. Allow mix to cool thoroughly before storing.

This recipe yields 5 1/3 cups granola.
