Crunchy Cornmeal Waffles Recipe - Cooking Index

3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | Sugar |
1 | Milk | |
3 cups | 187g / 6.6oz | All-purpose flour |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Yellow cornmeal |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Butter - melted |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Salt |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Baking powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla extract |
Beat egg whites to soft peak stage.
Beat egg yolks and sugar together until yolks are thick and light yellow. Add milk, flour, cornmeal, butter, salt, baking powder and vanilla to yolks and beat until smooth. Fold in egg whites.
Cook in pre-heated waffle iron until golden brown.
This recipe yields 24 (7-inch) waffles.
