Cornmeal Waffles Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Yellow cornmeal |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Flour |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
4 teaspoons | 20ml | Baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 3/4 cups | 414ml | 2% milk |
2 | Eggs - lightly beaten | |
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Butter - melted |
In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed, beat together milk, eggs and butter. Add to dry ingredients and mix to blend.
Pour batter onto a hot, greased waffle iron and bake until browned and crisp. Serve with butter and syrup or jam.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
