Cinnamon Spice Apple Rings Recipe - Cooking Index
2 | Cooking apples | |
1 cup | 237ml | Cranberry juice or water |
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cinnamon red hots |
Cut apples into rings and core. Dip into cold salted water to prevent darkening.
In a medium saucepan, bring cranberry juice or water and sugar to a boil. Add cinnamon red hots and stir until dissolved. Drop apple slices into syrup. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
Turn slices and continue cooking until tender. Serve hot or cold
This recipe yields 3 servings.
Variations:
u Or bake apples in syrup in a microwave for 2 minutes.
u Or bake apples in syrup in a covered dish in a 375 oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
