3/4 | Brown sugar | |

1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Whole-wheat flour |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Wheat germ |
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Rolled oats |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Nutmeg |
1 1/2 cups | 219g / 7.7oz | Chopped dried fruit |
In a medium bowl, beat margarine and brown sugar until blended. Add egg and beat until fluffy. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour, wheat germ, rolled oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in fruit bits.
Press mixture into a lightly greased 9- by 13-inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
Wrap cookies individually in plastic and then place in plastic freezer bags and freeze. In the morning warm cookies in a microwave oven for a just made taste.
This recipe yields 15 bars.
