1 cup | 237ml | Water - plus |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Water |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Butter |
1 | Egg | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Lemon juice |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Salt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Brown sugar |
2 1/2 cups | 156g / 5.5oz | Bread flour |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Whole-wheat flour |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Wheat germ - toasted |
4 tablespoons | 60ml | Powdered milk |
2 1/2 teaspoons | 12ml | Active dry yeast |
1/3 cup | 53g / 1.9oz | Raisins |
1/3 cup | 48g / 1.7oz | Walnuts - chopped |
Place all ingredients (except the raisins and walnuts) in your machine in the order specified by your machine's manufacturer. Select the basic/white cycle and press start. If your basic/white cycle doesn't have an add ingredients beep, use the cycle that does or turn on the add ingredients beep. Otherwise add the raisins and walnuts during the last 10 to 15 minutes of the final knead cycle.
This recipe yields 1 loaf.
