1 tablespoon 15mlButter
1/4 cup 15g / 0.5ozDried onions
1/2 tablespoon 7.5mlOnion paste - see * Note
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlFreshly-ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlPoppy seeds
1 teaspoon 5mlFast rise yeast
  (or 2 tspns active dry yeast)
  Large 1 1/2 To 2 Lb Loaf
1 1/4 cups 296mlWater
3 1/4 cups 203g / 7.2ozWhite bread flour
2 tablespoons 30mlDry milk
2 tablespoons 30mlBrown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlSalt
2 tablespoons 30mlButter
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozDried onions
1 tablespoon 15mlOnion paste
1 teaspoon 5mlFreshly-ground black pepper
1 teaspoon 5mlPoppy seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlFast rise yeast
  (or 3 tspns active dry yeast)

Recipe Instructions

* Note: If you can't find onion paste in a tube, you may substitute onion powder. Substitute 1/4 teaspoon for the regular loaf and 1/3 teaspoon for the large loaf. Onion salt will not work.

Follow the instructions for your particular brand of bread baking machine. This recipe can be baked with the regular or rapid bake cycles.

This recipe yields 1 loaf.
