Garden Herb Bread

The fragrance of turkey stuffing will fill your home while this flavorful bread is baking, thanks to all those aromatic dried herbs. This loaf is excellent for any cold meat sandwich you can dream up -- including turkey and cranberry. It also makes tasty croutons.

  Regular 1 Lb Loaf
3/4 cup 177mlWater
2 cups 125g / 4.4ozWhite bread flour
1 tablespoon 15mlDry milk
1 tablespoon 15mlSugar
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
1 tablespoon 15mlButter
1 teaspoon 5mlChives
1 teaspoon 5mlMarjoram
1 teaspoon 5mlThyme
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlBasil
1 teaspoon 5mlFast rise yeast
  (or 2 tspns active dry yeast)
  Large 1 1/2 To 2 Lb Loaf
1 1/4 cups 296mlWater
3 cups 187g / 6.6ozWhite bread flour
2 tablespoons 30mlDry milk
2 tablespoons 30mlSugar
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlSalt
2 tablespoons 30mlButter
1/2 tablespoon 7.5mlChives
1/2 tablespoon 7.5mlMarjoram
1/2 tablespoon 7.5mlThyme
1 teaspoon 5mlBasil
2 teaspoons 10mlFast rise yeast
  (or 3 tspns active dry yeast)

Recipe Instructions

Follow the loading instructions suggested in your machine's owner's manual. This recipe can be made with the regular cycle.

Hints: Use dried herbs that are flaked and not ground. If using ground, reduce amount by half. If using fresh herbs, double the amount. Any combination of spices may be substituted, according to your tastes.

This recipe yields 1 loaf.
