Ice Cream With Marsala And Currants Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Dried currants |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Orange juice |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Marsala |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
1/2 | Cinnamon stick | |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Grated orange peel |
Vanilla ice cream | ||
Amaretti or other cookies - crumbled |
Combine first 6 ingredients in heavy small saucepan. Boil until syrupy, stirring frequently, about 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Discard cinnamon.
Scoop ice cream into bowls. Spoon warm currant mixture over ice cream. Sprinkle with cookies and serve.
This recipe yields 2 servings; can be doubled or tripled.
