Lemon Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
This recipe originally accompanied "Old-Fashioned Tapioca With Lemon Sauce" (see recipe). This is also nice over angel food cake or a favorite frozen yogurt.

1 tablespoon | 15ml | Cornstarch |
3/4 cup | 177ml | Water |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Fresh lemon juice |
4 | Thin lemon slices | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Grated lemon peel |
Whisk sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan to blend. Add 3/4 cup water. Whisk over medium-high heat until mixture thickens and boils, about 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, lemon slices and grated lemon peel. Cool. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cover and chill. Bring to room temperature before serving.)
This recipe yields 1 1/4 cups.
