Red Wine Barbecue Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 237ml | Dry red wine |
1/3 cup | 78ml | Red wine vinegar |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Olive oil |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1 | Onion - finely chopped | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Grated orange zest |
2 | Garlic cloves - minced |
In a saucepan combine the wine, vinegar, oil, Worcestershire sauce, onion, sugar and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, partially covered, for 25 minutes. This sauce remains quite thin. Remove from the heat and stir in the garlic.
Good for pork, beef and lamb. Brush on every 20 minutes or so.
This recipe yields 2 cups.
