Basic Barbecue Rub Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar - (packed) |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Sweet paprika |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Coarse salt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Hickory-smoked salt |
= (or more coarse salt) | ||
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Garlic powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Onion powder |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Celery seeds |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground red (cayenne) pepper |
Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl; stir to mix. Store in an airtight jar away from heat or light; it will keep for at least 6 months.
This recipe yields 1 cup.
