Caramel Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
This is a lovely dressing for many desserts -- ice cream, cake, bread pudding or fruit. Try it, you might find your own idea for what it could top.

2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Heavy cream |
Juice and zest of 1/2 orange - (optional) |
In a cast-iron sauce pot, heat the sugar over the grill at a medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until it melts and becomes liquid. As soon as the sugar turns light brown, stir in the butter and simmer the mixture for 15 to 20 seconds. Slowly add the cream and simmer for 2 minutes over low heat. Stir in the orange juice and zest.
This recipe yields about 1 cup.
