Grilled Italian Turkey Sausage With Sauteed Vegetables Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Thinly-sliced onions |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Diced green pepper |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Olive oil |
1/4 lb | 113g / 4oz | Mushrooms - coarsely chopped |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Chopped garlic |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Sugar |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Italian seasoning |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Salt |
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Chopped ripe tomatoes |

In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, saute onions and green pepper in oil 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Add mushrooms and garlic and cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium and stir in sugar, Italian seasoning and salt. Add tomatoes and cook 10 to 15 minutes or until liquid has evaporated.
Prepare a charcoal grill for direct heat cooking. Grill sausages 4 to 5 minutes per side or until 160 degrees is reached on a meat thermometer (meat should no longer be pink in the center).
To serve, place sausages in buns and top with sauteed vegetables.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
