Cattails Recipe - Cooking Index
Kebab skewers - (8" to 10") | ||
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Ground beef |
1 | Onion - finely diced | |
1 | Egg - beaten | |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Seasoned bread crumbs |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 | Freshly-ground black pepper | |
8 | Hot dog or hoagie buns - (to 10) - for serving |
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Divide into 8 to 10 portions, and tightly shape meat on the end of each skewer to resemble cattail.
Place on grill over coals and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until brown on all sides. Use tongs to turn for even browning. Avoid turning until well-browned and firm. Slide off onto hot dog or hoagie bun.
This recipe yields 8 to 10 cattails.
