Cajun Turkey Burgers Recipe - Cooking Index
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Ground turkey |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Worcestershire sauce |
4 teaspoons | 20ml | Creole seasoning - divided |
1 | No-salt stewed tomatoes - (14 1/2 oz) - drained | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Minced garlic |
8 | Hamburger buns - toasted |
Coat a cold grill rack with vegetable cooking spray. Prepare charcoal grill for direct-heat cooking.
In a medium bowl, combine turkey, Worcestersire sauce and 2 tablespoons Creole seasoning. Evenly divide turkey mixture into 8 burgers, approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
Grill burgers 5 to 6 minutes per side or until 160 degrees is reached on a meat thermometer (meat should no longer be pink in the center).
In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine tomatoes, remaining Creole seasoning and the garlic. Cook 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated.
To serve, place burger on bottom half of each bun, drizzle with 3 tablespoons sauce and top with other half of bun.
This recipe yields 8 burgers.
