Basic Meatballs Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Ground beef |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Milk |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Egg (large) |
3/4 teaspoon | 3.8ml | Salt |
1/4 cup | 15g / 0.5oz | Onion - chopped |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Pepper |
1/3 cup | 48g / 1.7oz | Dry bread crumbs |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Worcestershire sauce |
Mix all the ingredients together. Shape mixture by Tablespoonfuls into 1 1/2" balls. (For ease in shaping the meatball, occasionally wet your hands with cold water.)
TO COOK IN A SKILLET: Heat 1 Tbls salad oil in a large skillet, cook the meatballs over medium heat until brown, about 20 minutes. Drain off excess fat. TO COOK IN THE OVEN: Place the meatballs in a lightly greased baking pan; bake, uncovered, in a 400F oven until light brown, about 20 minutes. Drain off the excess fat.
