One-inch steaks or chops - cut serving pieces, | ||

1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Ground allspice |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground ginger |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Onion salt |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Sweet butter |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste |

Marinate young steaks overnight, older ones longer. Mix flour with allspice, pepper, ground ginger, and onion salt. Pound flour mixture into meat. Brown in sweet butter over moderately hot heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper after browning. Cover and simmer until well done.
