| 1/2 lb | 227g / 8oz | Lean ham - diced |
| 3 | Water | |
| 6 cups | 375g / 13oz | Tomatoes |
| 2 cups | 320g / 11oz | Lima beans |
| 4 cups | 584g / 20oz | Potatoes - diced (large) |
| 2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Grated corn |
| 1 tablespoon | 15ml | Salt |
| 1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Freshly-ground black pepper |
| 1 teaspoon | 5ml | Hot red pepper pod (small) |
| 6 tablespoons | 90ml | Butter |
Simmer game meat, onion, and ham gently in water for 2 hours. Add tomatoes, limas, potatoes, corn, salt, black pepper, and hot pepper pod; cover and simmer gently for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add butter and serve as soon as it melts.
