Turkey Pita Sandwiches Recipe - Cooking Index
1 lb | 454g / 16oz | Wild turkey breast |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Butter |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Onion powder |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Celery salt |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Paprika |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Parsley flakes |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Apple juice |
6 | Pita breads | |
2 cups | 292g / 10oz | Chopped lettuce or spinach |
2 cups | 125g / 4.4oz | Chopped tomatoes |
Freshly-shredded cheese |
Slice turkey breast into thin strips. In a skillet, saute turkey in butter for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and cook on low heat until tender and liquid has cooked out.
Cut pita breads in half. Stuff with turkey, chopped lettuce or spinach, tomato and cheese.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
