Pickling Liquid

Recipe Ingredients

3 cups 711mlDistilled white vinegar
1 cup 237mlWater
2 1/2 cups 495g / 17ozSugar
1/4 cup 59mlSalt
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlWhole allspice
1   Cinnamon stick - (3" long)
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlCelery seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlMustard seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlWhole black pepper corns

Recipe Instructions

Place all of the ingredients in a nonreactive saucepan, over high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely. Strain the liquid and store in an airtight container.

This recipe yields about 1 quart.
