Pickling Liquid Recipe - Cooking Index
3 cups | 711ml | Distilled white vinegar |
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
2 1/2 cups | 495g / 17oz | Sugar |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Whole allspice |
1 | Cinnamon stick - (3" long) | |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Celery seeds |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Mustard seeds |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Whole black pepper corns |
Place all of the ingredients in a nonreactive saucepan, over high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool completely. Strain the liquid and store in an airtight container.
This recipe yields about 1 quart.
