Walnut Quick Bread

Recipe Ingredients

3 cups 187g / 6.6ozFlour
1 cup 198g / 7ozSugar
1 cup 146g / 5.1ozWalnuts - roughly chopped
1 tablespoon 15mlBaking powder
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlBaking soda
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlCinnamon
1   Egg - lightly beaten
1 2/3 cups 394mlMilk
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlVanilla
1/4 cup 59mlOil
  Cream cheese or honey-cream cheese - for serving

Recipe Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8- by 4- by 2-inch loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, walnuts, baking powder, salt, baking soda and cinnamon. In another bowl combine egg, milk, vanilla and oil. Add to flour mixture and stir just until moistened. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hours, until a tester inserted in center is dry. Cool completely on a rack before slicing. Serve with softened cream cheese whisked together with honey.

This recipe yields 1 loaf.
