Tequila Lime Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
1/2 cup | 118ml | White tequila |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Freshly-squeezed lime juice |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Minced shallots |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Minced garlic |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chopped fresh cilantro |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
3 | Freshly-ground black pepper | |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Heavy cream |
8 tablespoons | 120ml | Unsalted butter - (1 stick) - at room temperature cut up |
Combine the tequila, lime juice, shallots, garlic, cilantro, salt and pepper in a saute pan over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce by half. Stir in the cream and simmer for 3 minutes. Whisk in the butter and remove from the heat. Continue whisking until all of the butter is incorporated. Serve immediately.
This recipe yields 1 cup of sauce.
