Hot And Sour Cabbage Recipe - Cooking Index
1 | Napa cabbage - (abt 1 1/2 lbs) | |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Vegetable oil |
1 | One-inch slice of fresh ginger | |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Chili paste |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Chicken stock |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Soy sauce |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Rice vinegar |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Sesame oil |
Salt - to taste | ||
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Crushed red pepperflakes |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Toasted sesame seeds |
Wash cabbage, remove and discard outer leaves. Thinly shred remaining cabbage.
In a wok bring oil to smoking point over high heat. Add the ginger slice and stir fry 1 minute, discard ginger. Add cabbage and stir fry for 1 minute. Add chile paste, stock, soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil. Reduce the heat and cook, stirring occasionally for 8 minutes. Season with salt to taste. Serve topped with the crushed red pepper flakes and sesame seeds.
This recipe yields 6 servings.
