Homemade Tomato Sauce

Recipe Ingredients

1 tablespoon 15mlOlive oil
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozChopped onion
2 tablespoons 30mlFinely-chopped garlic
2 teaspoons 10mlSalt
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlFreshly-ground white pepper
2 1/2 cups 592mlChopped, peeled tomatoes with juice
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozChopped fresh basil
1/2 cup 118mlChicken stock
  Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste
1   Sugar

Recipe Instructions

Heat oil in a large skillet and saute onions, garlic, salt, and white pepper 3 minutes. Add tomatoes and basil; cook, stirring, 3 minutes. Stir in stock and about 18 turns black pepper; simmer 2 minutes. Season with sugar if acidic and cook 1 minute.
