Herb And Sausage Orzo

Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons 30mlOlive oil
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozFinely-chopped onion
1 tablespoon 15mlFinely-chopped garlic
1 cup 237mlOrzo pasta - (1/2 lb)
1 teaspoon 5mlSalt
  Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozAssorted chopped fresh herbs
  (such as basil, parsley, and thyme)
3 1/2 cups 829mlChicken stock
1/4 cup 36g / 1.3ozChopped smoked sausage
1 tablespoon 15mlUnsalted butter - softened

Recipe Instructions

Heat oil in a saucepan and add onions, garlic, orzo, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Stir in herbs and stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Remove pan from heat and stir in sausage and butter.
