Gardener Guy's Mom's Buttermilk Cornbread Recipe - Cooking Index
2/3 cup | 41g / 1.4oz | Flour |
2/3 cup | 41g / 1.4oz | Yellow cornmeal |
2/3 cup | 41g / 1.4oz | White cornmeal |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking powder |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Baking soda |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Sugar |
2 | Eggs - slightly beaten | |
2 cups | 474ml | Buttermilk |
3 tablespoons | 45ml | Melted butter |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vegetable oil - for iron skillet |
Mix dry ingredients. Add eggs, buttermilk, and butter. Mix well. Heat oil in cast-iron skillet. Pour batter into hot skillet and bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Serves 8.
