The Ultimate Peanut-Butter Stuffed Celery Recipe - Cooking Index
A stalk of celery smeared down its groove with a dollop of peanut butter has always been a popular kid's snack. This more grown-up version makes a great hors d'oeuvre that goes remarkably well with Bloody Marys.
Courses: Snacks, Starters and appetizers3/4 cup | 148g / 5.2oz | Crunchy peanut butter - at room temperature |
3 oz | 85g | Cream cheese - (1 pkg) - softened |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Worcestershire sauce - or to taste |
Tabasco sauce - to taste | ||
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Finely chopped fresh scallion greens |
12 | Celery stalks, small to medium - trimmed and chilled |
In a mixing bowl, stir together the peanut butter, cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco until smoothly blended. Fold in the scallions.
With a knife, spread a dollop of the mixture down the groove of each celery stalk. Arrange the stalks on a tray or plate and serve immediately. This recipe serves 6 as a snack or 12 as an hors d'oeuvre.
