Cream Cheese Brownies Recipe - Cooking Index
4 oz | 113g | Baker's German Sweet Chocolate |
5 tablespoons | 75ml | Butter |
3 oz | 85g | Cream cheese - (1 pkg) |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |

1 tablespoon | 15ml | Flour |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Almond extract |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Walnuts - chopped |
Melt chocolate and 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool. Cream remaining 2 tablespoons butter with cream cheese. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, and cream until fluffy. Blend in 1 egg, 1 tablespoon flour, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside. Beat 2 eggs until light. Gradually add remaining 3/4 cup sugar and beat until thickened. Add 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir in the cooled chocolate, 1 teaspoon vanilla, almond extract, and nuts. Spread half the chocolate batter in greased 8-inch or 9-inch-square pan. Top with cheese mixture. Drop spoonfuls of remaining chocolate batter over top. Zigzag a knife through batter to marbleize. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares. This recipe yields 9 brownies.
