Strawberries Romanoff Recipe - Cooking Index
Sauce | ||
1 cup | 237ml | Plain non-fat yogurt |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Firmly packed golden brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla extract |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Strawberry liqueur - (optional) |
2 | Fresh strawberries - hulled, and cut up | |
Garnish | ||
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Pecan pieces - lightly toasted |
In a small bowl, whisk sauce ingredients until fully mixed. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to make the sauce slightly firm. Divide berries evenly into four dessert dishes. Spoon 1/4 cup sauce over each serving. Top with nuts and serve immediately.
Description: "This great dessert can also be served as a breakfast treat; just leave out the liqueur and top with crunchy whole-grain cereal. For flavor variety, try substituting other fresh fruit."
