Bananas Foster Brooks Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 cup | 49g / 1.7oz | Butter |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Brown sugar - firmly packed |
4 | Ripe bananas | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Grated orange peel |
1/2 cup | 118ml | White rum |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Creme de banana - (or any liqueur) |
Vanilla ice cream |
Melt butter and sugar in a large skillet. Peel bananas, split lengthwise and add to skillet in a single layer. Saute, turning once, until tender. Add orange peel, rum and creme de banana. Ignite! Stand back from the skillet to avoid flames. Remove from heat and spoon sauce over until flame burns out.
Serve at once with vanilla ice cream.
