Sand Mountain Mint Julep Recipe - Cooking Index
6 | Fresh mint sprigs | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Superfine sugar |
Crushed ice | ||
3 oz | 85g | Bourbon |
Mixing instructions:
Lightly mud up 4 of the mint sprigs with the sugar and a few drops of water in the bottom of the glass. Almost fill the glass with crushed ice. Add the Jack Daniels and some short straws. Stick the remaining 2 mint sprigs into the ice to make it pretty. Now drank it real slow, sippy like.
NOTES : Mint Juleps weren't ever heard of in the Sweethome of my youth, since I grew up around a bunch of tee totalers. The one's that did drink, around here, were hard drinkin' types that preferred theirs hard and straight from the bottle.
