Raisin-Oatmeal Brownies

Recipe Ingredients

3/4 cup 46g / 1.6ozOats - quick-cooking rolled
6 oz 170gChocolate chips - semisweet
6 tablespoons 90mlButter or margarine
1/2 cup 80g / 2.8ozBrown sugar - packed
2   Eggs - large
1 teaspoon 5mlVanilla
3/4 cup 46g / 1.6ozFlour - unbleached
1/2 cup 80g / 2.8ozRaisins
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlBaking soda
1/4 teaspoon 1.3mlSalt

Recipe Instructions

Sprinkle 2 T of the oats over bottom of greased 9 X 9 X 2-inch baking pan; set aside. In saucepan melt chocolate and butter over low heat; stir constantly.

Remove from heat; blend in sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, remaining oats, raisins, soda and salt; stir into chocolate mixture. Spoon into prepared pan.

Bake at 325F. about 30 minutes. Cool; cut into bars.

Makes 24 brownies.
