Praline Apple Crisp

Recipe Ingredients

1 tablespoon 15mlWater
1 teaspoon 5mlAlmond extract
6 cups 1422mlTart eating apples - sliced and unpeeled
2 tablespoons 30mlFirm margarine
2 tablespoons 30mlAll-purpose flour
2 tablespoons 30mlPacked brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlGround cinnamon
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozZwieback crackers - coarsely crushed
2 tablespoons 30mlPecans - chopped
  Yogurt topping - (recipe available)

Recipe Instructions

Heat oven to 375F. Spray 1 1/2-quart casserole with nonstick cooking spray.

Mix water and almond extract; toss with apples in casserole.

Cut margarine into flour, brown sugar and cinnamon with pastry blender in small bowl until crumbly.

Stir in zwieback and pecans. Sprinkle over apples.

Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and apples are tender.

Serve warm with the Yogurt Topping.
