Old Fashioned Fudge Recipe - Cooking Index
2 cups | 396g / 13oz | Sugar |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Milk |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
2 oz | 56g | Unsweet. Choc./ 1/3 c. Cocoa |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Corn syrup |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Margarine |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped nuts - (oppt.) |
Mix Sugar, Milk, Choc., Corn syrup and salt. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly, until choc. is melted and sugar is dissolved.
Cook stirring occasionally to 234F (until it forms a soft ball in a cold cup of water). Remove from heat, add vanilla and margarine.
Beat vigorous 5 to 10 minutes. with spoon until candy is thick and no longer glossy spread in buttered shallow dish.
