Maple Walnut Squares Recipe - Cooking Index
1 1/2 cups | 93g / 3.3oz | Flour |
2 | Eggs - beaten | |
1/4 cup | 40g / 1.4oz | Brown sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Flour |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Salt |
1 cup | 328g / 11oz | Maple syrup |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Vanilla |
1/3 cup | 65g / 2.3oz | Maple sugar |
1/3 cup | 53g / 1.9oz | Brown sugar |
1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Walnuts - chopped |
Combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar and butter in bowl. With fork, mix until consistency of fine corn meal. Press mix into greased 9" x 13" pan.
Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
Combine 1/3 cup maple sugar, 1/3 cup brown sugar and syrup in small saucepan. Simmer 5 minutes. Pour over beaten eggs, stirring constantly.
Stir in remaining ingredients, except nuts. Pour mix over baked crust. Sprinkle with nuts and bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan and cut in bars.
Yield: 24 bars
