Iowa Brownies Recipe - Cooking Index
| 1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Butter - (1 stick) |
| 1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
| 1 | Choc syrup--1 lb | |
| 4 | Eggs | |
| 1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Flour |
| 1 cup | 146g / 5.1oz | Nuts - chopped opt. |
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in syrup, then eggs one at a time. Beat in flour gradually. Fold in nuts (optional).
Pour into greased cake pan (I use a 9x13 pan). They do not rise much. Bake at 350Fabout 30-40 minutes. *Orig. recipe calls for jelly roll pan-- that is 15x10. Cooking time is 25 minutes for this size. Pan will be full but they do not rise.
Frost with the Frosting for Iowa Brownies recipe to follow. **I use Hershey Chocolate syrup. This is more of a "cake" than a brownie. And is "missing something" without the icing!
