Honey-Baked Apples Recipe - Cooking Index
3 | Apples - peeled and cored | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Lemon juice |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Honey |
3/4 cup | 69g / 2.4oz | Cranberries |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Chopped walnuts |
1/4 cup | 36g / 1.3oz | Fresh bread crumbs |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Butter or margarine - melted |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Ground cinnamon |
1 | Salt | |
1 | Ground ginger | |
1 | Ground nutmeg |
Halve 2 apples lengthwise; brush with lemon juice.
Place apples cut-side down in oiled baking dish and brush with honey.
Bake, covered, at 400F 15 minutes.
Chop remaining apple; toss with remaining ingredients.
Turn apples over and mound apple mixture on center of cut apple halves.
Bake 10 minutes more or until topping browns.
Serve with ice cream for dessert or with sausage for breakfast or brunch.
