1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Margarine |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Brown sugar |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | White sugar |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Buttermilk |
3/4 cup | 82g / 2.9oz | European-style cocoa |
2 | Eggs | |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Vanilla |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Flour |
1/4 teaspoon | 1.3ml | Baking soda |
1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Chocolate chips |
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 9 " x 13" baking pan with cooking spray.
In a saucepan, combine sugars, margarine and buttermilk together.
Cook and stir over medium heat, just to boiling. Remove from heat, allowing mixture to cool slightly. Stir in cocoa, then eggs and vanilla. Mix flour and baking soda together, then incorporate into cocoa mixture with 25-30 strokes.
Fold in chocolate chips. Spread evenly in prepared pan.
Bake 18-20 minutes. (Do not over-bake.) Allow to cool before cutting.
Makes 24 pieces
