Date Filling For Hamentaschen Recipe - Cooking Index
1/4 cup | 59ml | Walnuts |
2 cups | 474ml | Pitted dates |
1/2 cup | 80g / 2.8oz | Sultana raisins |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Grated lemon rind - if desired |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cinnamon |
Steel Knife: Chop walnuts coarsely, about 4 or 5 seconds. Empty bowl.
Process dates with raisins, rind and cinnamon until minced, about 15 to 20 seconds. Add nuts with 1 or 2 quick on/off turns.
Yield: about 2 cups filling.
May be prepared in advance and refrigerated or frozen.
