Cookie Mix

Recipe Ingredients

9 cups 562g / 19ozFlour
3 1/4 cups 520g / 18ozBrown sugar
2 1/2 cups 495g / 17ozGranulated sugar
4 teaspoons 20mlBaking soda
1 tablespoon 15mlSalt
4 cups 792g / 27ozButter - margarine, or shortening

Recipe Instructions

1. In a large bowl combine flour, sugars, baking soda, and salt; stir to blend. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.

2. Store mix in one large bag or divide into four 4-3/4-cup portions. Mix made with butter or margarine can be stored in freezer up to 4 months. Mix made with shortening can be stored in cupboard up to 6 months.

Makes 2 large batches, 6 to 8 dozen cookies.
