Coconut Cherry Bars Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Butter or margarine |
1 1/4 cups | 247g / 8.7oz | Big chief granulated sugar |
1 | Egg | |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Vanilla |
2 1/2 cups | 156g / 5.5oz | Flour |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons | 7.5ml | Baking powder |
1/2 cup | 73g / 2.6oz | Chopped nuts |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Maraschino cherries - chopped |
2/3 cup | 61g / 2.2oz | Flaked coconut |
6 oz | 170g | Miniature chocolate chips |
Cream butter or margarine.
Add Big Chief granulated sugar gradually.
Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, cherries, coconut and chocolate chips.
Spread dough in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 375F for 25 minutes or until bars are firm in the center.
Cool slightly. Cut.
