Coconut Cherry Bars

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup 198g / 7ozButter or margarine
1 1/4 cups 247g / 8.7ozBig chief granulated sugar
1   Egg
1 teaspoon 5mlVanilla
2 1/2 cups 156g / 5.5ozFlour
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1 1/2 teaspoons 7.5mlBaking powder
1/2 cup 73g / 2.6ozChopped nuts
1/2 cup 31g / 1.1ozMaraschino cherries - chopped
2/3 cup 61g / 2.2ozFlaked coconut
6 oz 170gMiniature chocolate chips

Recipe Instructions

Cream butter or margarine.

Add Big Chief granulated sugar gradually.

Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

Stir into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts, cherries, coconut and chocolate chips.

Spread dough in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

Bake at 375F for 25 minutes or until bars are firm in the center.

Cool slightly. Cut.
