1 cup | 110g / 3.9oz | Grated carrot |
1 cup | 237ml | Grated potato |
1 1/4 cups | 182g / 6.4oz | Soft bread crumbs |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Raisins |
1 cup | 62g / 2.2oz | Currants |
1 cup | 160g / 5.6oz | Brown sugar |
1/2 cup | 99g / 3.5oz | Margarine |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sour milk |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Baking soda |
1/2 cup | 31g / 1.1oz | Flour |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Salt |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon | 0.6ml | Nutmeg |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Allspice |
Mix in order given. Turn into well greased heat proof bowl; cover and steam about 3 hours. Takes a medium sized bowl. Serve with brown sugar sauce, or custard, or whatever you like.
