Chianti Granita With Fresh Berries Recipe - Cooking Index
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
2 1/2 cups | 592ml | Water |
2 cups | 474ml | Chianti |
1/3 cup | 78ml | Fresh orange juice |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Fresh lemon juice |
1 cup | 237ml | Quartered fresh strawberries |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Fresh raspberries |
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and pour mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Let cool; cover and freeze overnight. Remove from freezer; scrape entire mixture with the tines of a fork until fluffy. Divide berries among 8 dessert dishes; top each with 1 cup granita.
Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 1 cup granita and 3 tablespoons berries).
