Calico Fruit Bars

Recipe Ingredients

2 cups 125g / 4.4ozFlour
2 cups 396g / 13ozSugar
1 teaspoon 5mlBaking soda
1 teaspoon 5mlCinnamon
1/2 teaspoon 2.5mlSalt
1 cup 237mlOil
2 teaspoons 10mlVanilla
2 cups 292g / 10ozBananas - diced (2 medium)
1 cup 237mlWalnuts
1 cup 62g / 2.2ozMaraschino cherries - halved
3   Eggs - slightly beaten
8 oz 227gCrushed pineapple - undrained
  Glaze
1/4 cup 49g / 1.7ozButter or margarine - soften
1 1/2 cups 297g / 10ozPowdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons 22mlWarm water

Recipe Instructions

Bars: Grease and flour a 10x15 jelly roll pan. Spoon the flour lightly into a cup and measure off. In a large bowl combine all ingredients and stir until blended. Spread in pan. Bake 30-40 minutes in a preheated 350oF oven until toothpick comes out clean.

Glaze: Combine all ingredients and add enough milk to make a spreading constituency.

Take bars out and spread with glaze. Let cool and cut into 48 bars. Store in the refrigerator.
