Apple Stew Recipe - Cooking Index
2 lbs | 908g / 32oz | Apples - soft (preferably Macintosh or Rome) |
2/3 cup | 157ml | Water |
1/4 cup | 59ml | Walnut pieces |
23 | Up apricot or other preserves | |
12 | Up sour cream - or plain yogurt |
Wash the apples in hot water and soap to remove any wax. Cut into quarters. Remove the cores. Put the pieces in a saucepan with the preserves, water, butter and walnuts. Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat.
Cook over low heat for 30 minutes or until tender. Cool. Divide among the dessert dishes. Serve cold with a spoonful of sour cream or yogurt on top.
