Apple Galette Recipe - Cooking Index
One 8-inch round puff pastry | ||
1 | Golden delicious apple - peeled, cored, (large) and sliced thin | |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Sugar |
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Cold unsalted butter - cut into bits |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Apricot preserves - strained |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Calvados |
Preheat the oven to 425F. Arrange the pastry an a baking sheet, top with the apples forming concentric circles and sprinkle with sugar. Dot with the butter and bake for 30 minutes, or until pastry is golden.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan combine the apricot preserves with the Calvados, bring to a boil and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, or until smooth and thick. Brush the apples with the glaze and transfer to a serving dish.
