Apple Dumplings In Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
For double crust pie | ||
8 | Apples - peeled, and cored (medium) | |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Brown sugar |
1 pinch | Cinnamon | |
For the sauce | ||
1 cup | 237ml | Water |
1 cup | 198g / 7oz | Sugar |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Butter |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cinnamon |
Divide the pie crust into eight equal pieces. Roll each piece into an 8-inch circle. Place an apple in the center of the dough. Put brown sugar in the hollow of the apple, adding more as needed. Sprinkle apple with dash of cinnamon. Fold pie crust up around the apple and seal. Place in a greased 9- by 13- by 2- inch baking pan. Repeat with remaining apples.
To make the sauce: Combine water, sugar, butter and cinnamon and pour over dumplings in the pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350F.
